Bill Alexander was right...

Remember Bill Alexander, the painter who had a show on public television? His most famous phrase was "Almighty White." Every single time I squeeze white paint onto my palette I hear his voice saying it in my head. White truly is a magical color to paint with. And up until just recently, I only extolled the virtues of white paint in oil-from-the-tube form. But as Kevin and I renovate our entire house (going on 5 months now), I'm becoming a huge fan of white semi-gloss latex paint. It hides a multitude of sins on baseboards and door jams. White really *is* almighty, Bill!

And speaking of white, I'm just finishing up a painting of two Bichons who are named after the most glorious white there is: snow! Flurry and Frosty will be posted soon!

i heart farm animals, too

Last Saturday we celebrated the 1st birthday of my twin nephews, Benjamin and Daniel. The party was held at a farm, where we ate delicious food, fed some cute animals, and had our own private hayride. It was the very first hayride for my 86-year-old grandmother! A good time was had by all! I finally had an occasion to wear the cowboy (or cowgirl, I suppose) hat I bought in San Antonio. There aren't too many opportunities to wear it in Southern New Jersey without getting strange looks!

Happy birthday to the buh-buhs! The best nephews a girl could ask for!
